Training
Clear Communication. Confident dogs. Stronger Partnerships.
At Cherry Creek Kennel, we understand that every dog is unique, with its own personality, strengths, and training needs. That's why we create customized training programs designed to achieve lasting results—not only during your dog's stay with us, but long after they return home.
Although our facility is designed as a traditional kennel, we believe in providing every dog with a balanced and enriching experience. Our training dogs spend structured time in the kennel, where they develop independence, learn to settle, and practice remaining neutral around other dogs. They also spend time in our home, where they learn appropriate manners and household routines in a real family environment.
To further prepare dogs for everyday life, we regularly take them into town for real-world socialization and exposure, building confidence and teaching them to navigate a variety of environments and situations.
Our goal is to develop confident, well-balanced companions that can thrive at home and in public—dogs that are happy, reliable, and a pleasure to have by your side, regardless of breed or size.

Private lessons (125$/hour + GST):
Private lessons are tailored to your dog's individual needs and progress, with no fixed schedule. Lessons can be held at your home, in public spaces, or anywhere you're experiencing challenges, allowing us to work through behaviors in the environments where they naturally occur. This flexible approach helps create practical, real-world results and allows each lesson to be scheduled when your dog is ready for the next step rather than on predetermined dates. Success in this program depends on the owner's commitment to consistency and practicing the training between sessions.
Each lesson focuses on one to three key areas requiring attention. After every session, you'll receive a detailed training summary outlining what was covered, why those behaviors were addressed, and clear instructions for continuing your dog's progress at home. Ongoing support via phone or email is included at no additional cost, ensuring you have guidance whenever you need it. Private lessons are ideal for:
-
Basic to advanced pet obedience
-
Puppy foundations
-
Household manners
-
Leash skills
-
Reliable recall
-
Engagement and focus
Board & Train
Our Board & Train program is ideal for dogs with multiple behavioral challenges or for owners who have busy schedules and would benefit from a more intensive training approach. Your dog will stay at our facility for a minimum of three weeks, receiving structured, individualized training designed to address behavioral concerns and build lasting, reliable habits.
Training doesn't end when your dog goes home. We provide continued support, guidance, and follow-ups to help ensure your dog's success is maintained long-term. This program is an excellent option for owners who may not have the time, experience, or confidence to work through more complex behavioral issues on their own.
Please note: Dogs with a bite history or aggressive behaviors with intent to bite will incur an additional charge of $25 per day.
3 week program: $3000+ GST
4 week program: $4000 + GST
* A $500 non refundable deposit to be paid to secure bookings.
Initial Consultation (Required for all programs) ($100 + GST)
All training programs begin with a mandatory in-person consultation. During this session, we will evaluate your dog, discuss your training goals and behavioral concerns, and determine the program best suited to your dog's needs. We'll also explain our training philosophy, outline the training plan, answer any questions you may have, and ensure everyone feels comfortable and confident moving forward.
Our approach
We believe quality training is build on clarity, consistency, and communication.
Dogs should understand what is expected of them, and handlers should understand how to effectively communicate with their dogs.
Our training is individualized rather than on a one size fits all formula. We consider temperament, breed, drives, and environment when developing a training plan.
Our goal is a dog that understands, a handler that communicates, and a relationship built on trust.
